Gem corruption
Which gems earn the most when corrupted with a Vaal Orb or double corrupted at a Doryani's Institute, counting every outcome. Uses stored price samples for your selected league; click any price to set your own.
How a corruption is valued
A Vaal Orb picks one of four results with equal chance: nothing changes, the gem becomes its Vaal version if it has one, its level changes by one, or its quality changes. Doryani's Institute applies two different results from those four. A level result goes up or down by one with equal chance, up to one above the gem's normal maximum level, and a quality result shifts quality by up to 10 either way, between 0% and 23%.
Each outcome's chance is multiplied by what the resulting gem sells for and the products are added up. Compare that with the starting gem plus the Vaal Orb or temple cost to see whether corrupting pays.
Starting gems
Pick an uncorrupted gem at its normal maximum level with either 0% or 20% quality. Exceptional supports such as Empower, Enlighten and Enhance start at their own lower maximum level. A 0% quality gem cannot reach 20% or 23% quality in one Institute use.
Before corrupting many
Profit chance is the share of single attempts that sell for more than they cost, so a gem with a high average can still lose on most attempts. Prices are stored samples, so rare outcomes can sell for less than listed, and selling many copies of one outcome pushes its price down; set your own price where it looks off.
