Summary

You can use the farming calculators without an account. If you log in, PoeStrat stores your Path of Exile account name, the stash snapshots you take and your profile settings. We measure which features are used with a random browser ID and PostHog analytics. We never see your Path of Exile password, and we don't sell personal data.

Logging in with Path of Exile

Login uses Grinding Gear Games' official OAuth: you sign in on pathofexile.com, and GGG gives PoeStrat a token that can read your account profile, leagues, characters and stash tabs. We store the token so snapshots can run. You can revoke it at any time in your account settings on pathofexile.com.

A stash snapshot stores, for each tab you selected, the items in it, their quantities and positions, and the price of each item at the time. Snapshots are deleted after 28 days.

Profile and ladder

Your ladder entry shows your account name, your net worth and your most valuable items. You can hide your name with the Show my username setting. To leave the ladder, email [email protected] with your Path of Exile account name. Discord, Twitch, X and YouTube links you add to your profile are shown on the ladder.

Sessions, cookies and analytics

When you log in, we record a session with the IP address you logged in from.

PoeStrat saves a random visitor ID in your browser's local storage as poestrat.visitor-id until you clear it. We also store the ID in the _pm_activity_visitor cookie, which lasts a year. This lets us tell visitors apart in our usage statistics, including when the browser blocks API cookies.

We record which features are used, such as opening a calculator or taking a snapshot, under that random ID, or under your account ID if you are logged in. These events are sent to PostHog (https://posthog.com), our analytics provider, which stores them in the United States. When you log in, your earlier events from the same browser are linked to your account, and your account name is attached to them. We also keep daily feature counts in our own database under a hashed version of the same ID.

Calculator settings, such as kill times, price overrides and the current Grove session, are saved in your browser's local storage. If you are logged in, Watcher's Eye combos you track or dismiss and your custom item groups are saved to your account.

Advertising and cookies

Some public pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com, and out of other vendors' cookies at https://www.aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Sharing, retention and deletion

We don't sell or rent personal data. Our hosting and database providers and PostHog process it only to run and improve the site. Your ladder entry is public.

Account data is kept while your account exists. To delete your account and all data linked to it, email [email protected] with your Path of Exile account name. We will reply when it's done.
